Richard "Drew" Snyder
M.S./LPC/Clinical Associate
Richard "Drew" Snyder earned his Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Oregon University. Drew creates a compassionate and encouraging climate where clients from any background are empowered to explore their lives and work toward growth and change. Drew uses an integrative and empirical approach to therapy that emphasizes striving toward health emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. This approach, called Meaning-Centered Therapy (MCT), unites evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, existential-humanistic therapy, attachment theory, and positive psychotherapy, with a focus on meaning as the central, organizing construct. This holistic approach includes looking at spiritual, cognitive, and behavioral dimensions. Drew strives to help clients in their journey of self-discovery by pursuing healing from and acceptance of the past; cultivating responsibility and building healthy relationships in the present; and discovering freedom and meaning for the future.
For relationship counseling Drew utilizes the Psychobiological Approach to Couple's Therapy (PACT), and is a PACT certified therapist. PACT is a fusion of attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, and arousal regulation between partners. PACT has a reputation for effectively treating the most challenging couples' issues. Drew currently is focusing on working with those facing relationship challenges, anxiety and depression, healing from trauma, holistic health and wellness, existential crises, life transitions, self-empowerment, and creating meaning and value in one's life.
Drew has many interests outside of counseling, especially outdoors, but currently spends much of his time with his extraordinary wife parenting four young children.

April Hubbard
M.A./LCSW/Clinical Associate
April Hubbard, LCSW is a licensed Clinical Social Worker. April grew up partly in rural Southern Oregon, and partly abroad as a missionary kid. It was while living abroad in Papua New Guinea that she first discovered her life purpose was to invest in people, specifically in demonstrating God's love to those who knew it least. This goal led April abroad on multiple mission trips, serving in orphanages, schools, and children's homes, and ultimately to the field of Social Work. April graduated from George Fox University with a bachelors in social work in 2008 before accepting a position as a case manager at a residential children's home in West Texas for 4 years. April interrupted her career again for international service, returning to complete a Master of Social Work degree at Texas State University, with an emphasis in adventure therapy. She then returned to her origins in Southern Oregon, taking a job at the local youth shelter, Hearts With A Mission where she has worked as a therapist for 7 years. April enjoys the outdoors; rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, gardening, travelling, and farming with her family. April Hubbard is a trained Neurofeedback practioner.
N Athena Thompson
M.S./LPC/NCC/Clinical Associate
Athena Thompson, LPC, NCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor
who holds a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health
Counseling from Southern Oregon University. She is a Nationally
Certified Counselor and has extensive training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Athena has served individuals and families as therapist in psychiatric
day treatment, outpatient, school-based, and residential program settings. She employs psychodynamic, trauma-informed, strengths-based and client-centered perspectives to assist clients with removing the barriers that stand in the way of effectively coping with life stressors and events,
making and maintaining healthy relationships, and positive behavior change. She employs modalities such as DBT-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, EMDR, psychoeducation, and creative therapy to address issues such as anxiety, trauma and loss, depression, and interpersonal difficulties.
Athena believes that effective counseling addresses the body, mind, and spirit, and thus she recognizes the importance of spiritual issues in counseling practice. Since psychotherapy can help clients gain insight into how their core beliefs and values influence behavioral and relational patterns, she offers faith-based and values-driven counseling for clients whom hold personal spirituality as a source of meaning and purpose. Athena served for two years on the Board of Directors for Hearts With A Mission —the only local shelter serving homeless youth; and also served as therapist for Redemption Ridge, a non-profit residential program for young women whom were rescued from, or at risk for, sex trafficking.
